“Evening Palms” at left is a sample of Chuck Caplinger’s oils on canvas which were featured at Twentynine Palms Art Gallery in October 2007--an eclectic mix of desert landscapes, wildlife, cowboys and western scenes, along with pieces from his series “Desert Dreamscapes”--created straight from the artist’s imagination--featuring spontaneous, ethereal works in gouache on black matboard.

Caplinger’s “Marilyn” is one of many Hollywood Faces captured on canvas over the years, including those in a 2007 exhibition at M Hale Gallery, Palm Springs, CA, and at Hollywood Entertainment Museum 2001-2006.

Chuck Caplinger’s realism and love of nature combine to make him a master at portraying the wildlife and landscapes of the desert Southwest in his paintings and murals. In 1997, the Texas-born artist and his actress wife, Holgie Forrester, left their Hollywood art studio and relocated to Twentynine Palms, CA, on the edge of the Mojave Desert. His “world headquarters” is now Desert Art Studio & Gallery, located in a spacious dome house near the entrance to Joshua Tree National Park.
