On Sunday, May 12, 2001, the Yucaipa Renaissance Committee unveiled their city’s first public art commission.
The outdoor mural’s design was created from a photograph found in the Yucaipa Valley Historical Society Museum’s archives. It depicts the historic annual Yucaipa Apple Show (circa 1912) and the dirt main street, storefronts, festive event tents, vintage cars, and sparsely populated downtown Yucaipa of that era.
