“Desert Dreaming” by Chuck Caplinger (2004)
Oils on canvas.  A series of whimsical and imaginative portrait sketches of some of the artist’s desert-dwelling friends.  Premiered at Morongo Basin Desert Arts Festival 2004, Open Studio Art Tours. “Magic Thumb” portrait, First Place ribbon winner, Morongo Valley Art Colony 40th Anniversary Art Show, Oct. 2004; Open Studio Art Tours Review Show, Gallery 62, Oct./Nov. 2004; and The Southland Show judged exhibition, 29 Palms Art Gallery, Nov. 2004.
