“Desert Dreaming” by Chuck Caplinger (2004)
Oils on canvas. This series of whimsical and imaginative portraits of some of the artist’s desert-dwelling friends premiered at Morongo Basin Desert Arts Festival 2004, Open Studio Art Tours. First Place winner, “Magic Thumb” portrait, Morongo Valley Art Colony 40th Anniversary Art Show, Oct. 2004. Exhibited at Open Studio Art Tours Review Show, Gallery 62, Oct./Nov. 2004; The Southland Show juried exhibition, 29 Palms Art Gallery, Nov. 2004; and 29 Palms Inn exhibition 2005.
